This only replaces the ball joint.
The ball joint fits onto the bolt inside the sternum (nose) of the tow bar. To replace just the ball joint, the tow bar needs to have the bolt, washers, safety strap and a locking nut.
The ball joint slips down onto the seat post hitch. Then tighten the hitch nut against the hitch and you are ready to ride. Because the ball joint rotates 360 degrees, the trailer and bike can move independently.
If you need the complete tow bar hardware go to Ball Joint Upgrade.
Axle Tow Bars use a different set of hardware.
